Two little words, but they can mean so much to people. How often do we actually say thank you. I do try my best but, like everybody, fail at times. We should say thank you to everybody that shows us a kindness, even our husbands/wifes, often they get taken for granted. They do things that are expected of them, but a quick thank you makes it all worthwhile !!

The day was started in 1994 to encourage people to apprecaite what others do for us, be it friends, who are supportive, or just strangers who help in some way, or even (dare I say it) a man that holds the door open for you. A small thank you just makes their day, and especially if accompanied by a smile. Saying thank you costs nothing.

To celebrate today, why not phone a friend you haven’t spoken to for a while, or show some kindness to a neighbour or stranger, even if it’s a quick hi can I do anything for you in the case of neighbours or a simple good morning and a smile to a stranger. All acts of kindness
