There aren't many people who don't like a good cartoon, but obviously, we tend to differ in our choices.

Cartoons go back a long way, and the first known hand-drawn animated cartoon was in 1908. I have never heard of it. It is Fantasmagorie by Emile Cohl.
Then there were characters such as Oswald, Felix the Cat, Gertie the Dinosaur and Little Nemo, before Mickey Mouse.

Here is a list of some of the oldest, and I have never heard of any of them apart from Little Nemo.

Fantasmagorie: Created by Émile Cohl in 1908, this was the first animated film using hand-drawn animation.
Feline Follies: Released in 1919, this animated short featured Felix the Cat as "Master Tom". Felix is considered the first animated film star.
El Apóstol: Released in 1917, this was the first full-length animated feature film.
The Clown and His Donkey: Released in 1910.
Little Nemo: Released in 1911.
How a Mosquito Operates: Released in 1912.
Colonel Heeza Liar: Released in 1913.
Gertie the Dinosaur: Released in 1914.
Farmer Al Falfa: Released in 1915.
Bobby Bumps: Released in 1915.

There have been some great old cartoons, like Tom and Jerry, Betty Boop, Looney Tunes and Alice in Wonderland.

The list is endless. An awful lot of work went into these old hand-drawn animations, unlike in today's computer-generating age.
I would imagine some have now been banned as too violent. Come on, at 2 or 3 years old, you just think they are fun!
