🍫🍫🥜🥜 Welcome to a Chocolate & Peanut Celebration🍫🍫🥜🥜
Today is both National Chocolate Day and National Peanut Day. WOW, we could really pig out!!
Anyway, I have combined the two days into one thread, and we will celebrate both!!
They do combine extremely well!!
Chocolate plants have been around since forever, but it was about 4000 years ago that the Olmec people of what was Mexico many moons ago started turning coco beans into a beverage which was very rare and was used in cultural rituals and for medicine. Years later, cocoa beans were cultivated and used for trading and eventually chocolate became what it is today.
Too yummy and moorish.
There is so much you can use chocolate for: cakes, ice cream, sauces, cooking, and making sponge puds, and combined with peanuts, it is wonderful!
Whilst the peanut has the word “nut “ in it, it is not a nut, it is a legume, and grows underground. It probably came from South America in about 1500 BC.
They didn’t become popular til about 1700 in North America, and weren’t grown commercially for a while after that.
There is a lot you can do with peanuts. The favourite in Amercia is a peanut butter and jelly (jam) sarnie, and kids love them.
You can make peanuts into butter, ice cream, add to cakes, mix with chocolate, use in curry and other cooking, or just eat as is, and most people with say how moorish they are.
And of course, what do you get, which are extremely popular!!
So, today, let’s celebrate by eating some chocolate and peanuts, either together or separately, or make something with one or both in.
Post all things related to peanuts and chocolate and let’s have some delicious fun!
