August Bank Holiday is celebrated on the last Monday in August and was introduced to give workers a day off after the Summer. It was originally celebrated on the first Monday in August but was later moved to today. But what to do on it?
As it’s the last Bank Holiday before Christmas, what people do is very varied. Some go on a holiday as there is that extra day off from work, some go to the beach, and if you have a static caravan, it’s time to start thinking about locking it up for the winter. There are many places to visit, depending on where you live, if you live in a city or town there are museums, galleries etc. to visit or see if there are any celebrations going on. Or the sensible ones, like me, stay at home, refusing to sit for hours in traffic jams or on crowded beaches !!
Not my idea of a fun day out !
So what do you do on a Bank Holiday? Do you go out somewhere for a change, or stay at home and treat it as a normal day, I do.
So today post anything to do with days out, transport, beaches, walks etc. etc. and whatever you do have a good Bank Holiday!
