Ok folks, itโs the 1st of July, more than halfway through the year already. I hope itโs a good one for all.
July is also National Picnic Month, and thatโs what we are going to celebrate.
A picnic is great on a nice sunny day, and we will all have different ideas of the ideal location.
Mine would be somewhere quiet in the county near a river, so I could dangle my feet in it. There are quite a few places to choose from: your local park, but that could get a bit crowded; the beach, again, a quiet beach would be ideal; or you can drive and stop at one of those designated picnic areas where lots of other people go. A walk in the woods or forest would be a great place to take a picnic as well.
Looks good until it is packed with people and kids
Looks great to me
Organising a picnic is fun but takes time, depending on what sort of food you choose. If you have a picnic hamper, well, the plates, etc., are all ready just to pick up and put in the car, so have a separate basket for food and drinks. And donโt forget a blanket to lie on.
The choice of food depends on the people; a family of four will probably go for sarnies, biscuits, pop, etc. Whereas adults may go more for things like a pork pie, cheese, crackers or crusty bread, and of course a bottle of wine. Whatever you choose, it will be enjoyed in the sunshine or somewhere nice.
Company is also important, no point spending a day with people you dont like, so chose wisely and you will have some fun.
So do you go on picnics?
I havenโt been on one for years, but they can be fun.
What sort of place would you choose to have one at, and what sort of food would be your choice?
Today, post all things picnic and July-related, and I wish you all a very Happy July!
