Lest We Forget

Today is the day when we remember all of those, human and animal, who have served in human conflicts down the ages. And far too many of those made the ultimate sacrifice—gave their todays for our tomorrows.

The poppy—red for humans and purple for animals—is a poignant symbol of all of that, and also for the hope of peace on this planet!

Warfare is very different these days, with drones, long-range missiles, and, no doubt, at some point soon, AI-driven robots doing the fighting, but humans and animals are still the mainstay of any frontline at the moment. Fathers, sons, mothers, daughters…and all of the civilians and other innocents who get caught in the middle.

Today, let’s pay our respects to all who have served and continue to serve their respective countries. Only a few choose to go to war, and they are never the ones who do the fighting.

Also, let’s share images, quotes, and music that speak of peace and hope…hope that one day, humans will cease their eternal conflicts.
And poppy pictures and gifs are very welcome, too—all poppies of all kinds, wild and cultivated. That delicate flower is a powerful symbol of hope and regenerating life from barren soil.

Let’s make this a positive, uplifting post!
