The 1970s were an exciting era, both in fashion, music and cultural change. An era of bellbottom trousers, platform shoes, high-waisted jeans, the afro and corduroy (OMG). That lot doesn’t bear thinking about now!!
The lava lamp and shag carpets also became popular

It was also the era of the Miners Strikes and the 3 day week, where electricity for businesses was limited to 3 consecutive days a week!!

It was an era of some extremely good music as well, leading on from the 60’s. People like Bowie, Elton John, Rod Stewart, and Abba, to name just a few of the many. But the music that really dominated the 70’s was the Bee Gees. They wrote and performed so many great songs.
