Yesterday was National Puppy Day, so today we are going to celebrate it.
The word Puppy conjures up quite a few words: adorable, wonderful, soft and cuddly, a wonderful smell, mischief, fun, chaos, and love. That puppy will love you above all other things from day one, and will become your best friend!! They do need a lot of patience, training and your time, but boy is it worth every second!!
They are also better in twos—ok, twice as much mischief, but a lot easier to train.
How could you refuse that anything?
Puppies need a lot of entertainment and toys to play with, and most of all, they need to be socialised and trained. Cos that pretty little dog jumping up at you at 2 months old is great, but not so if it’s a large dog when it is fully grown. And, not everybody likes it. I personally don’t mind it, but then to me, a dog can do no wrong!! All mine were very good and did as they were told.
If you have to tell a puppy off, do it with kindness, not force, and never ever ever smack a puppy. Reward them with treats when they are good and do as you ask them.
The big wide world for the first time
To celebrate National Puppy Day, if you’re lucky enough to have one, spoil it even more than you do. Extra cuddles always go down well, as do extra treats.
If not, maybe visit a rescue centre and take some gifts for the puppies in there, and even, bring one (or two) home, you will never regret it, but before you do, make sure you have the time and energy and patience to cope with them, and also be able to afford the vets bills, (which today are horrendous for even a small problem).
Yes they can get on, the puppy will soon learn who’s the boss
Whatever you do, enjoy today and post all things puppy related: pics, of your own if you have any, gifs, music and dancing. Puppies like to dance as well!!
