Our Burns Night Supper

Yes, we are back in bonnie Scotland again today, to celebrate the birth of the poet, Robert Burns, who wrote so many famous poems, including Auld Lang Syne and A Red, Red Rose.

A Red, Red Rose

O my luve’s like a red, red rose,
That’s newly sprung in June:
O my luve’s like the melodie
That’s sweetly play’d in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonny lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry.

Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun
O I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run:

And fare thee weel, my only luve!
And fare thee weel a while!
And I will come again, my luve,
Though it were ten thousand mile.

But we are not just celebrating Robert Burns today, but also Scotland in general and all and any poetry of any kind that you love, with fine food, fun and frivolity thrown in, Corner Café style!

And what a Burns supper we shall have!

But first I have to catch the haggis - wily little creatures, they are!

So, today, let’s share anything Scottish, as well as any poetry by Robert Burns or others—serious or silly—that you wish.
All contributions welcome - poetic, musical or otherwise!

Happy Burns Night, everyone!
